Luxurious Obsessions!

(Before I get started, I'm still having issues with my links.  Blogger people out there.....I prefer to have my links pop up into a new window (which they used to do). I must have changed a setting without knowing it.  Can somebody tell me how to fix it?
For now...when the link replaces the blog, you need to just continue to hit the back button.)

So, today is a little different than my normal Friday post.
Instead of highlighting 3 obsessions,
I'm highlighting an assortment of items that are pricey enough to label a luxury item.
I like the word luxury.
The word conjures up all sorts of feelings of happiness.
Bad word = ointment
(Are you guys watching Duck Dynasty?  HILARIOUS.)
Good word = luxury
You get different feelings when you say them don't you?!?
(Sorry for saying ointment, but I though it would highlight my point nicely.) the 5th day of my Christmas series....
I am going to feature some luxury items.
I thought it was appropriate since this is where we would normally sing "5 Golden Rings!"

On the FIFTH day of Christmas my true love sent to me......
Super Expensive but TOTALLY worth it items,
leopard print a plenty,
(Try not to read it and sing it.  I dare you.)

So....for those of you that are maybe lucky enough to get a luxury item under your Christmas tree, I thought I would highlight some of the things that I would NOT be mad if I received.
Nope, I wouldn't be mad at all.
Are you listening?  hubby? sister? in-laws? mom? dad? anybody?
I'm not taking CRAZY splurges,
but I am talking about super nice items that are between $100 and $500.
You know, items that would make you squeal if you opened one!

First up, some lovelies from Jared.
My 5 year anniversary ring, my drop necklace that I got for my 30th birthday, and my sapphire ring I got for Christmas 3 years ago are all from Jared.
I LOVE all of them.
They are sparkly and oh so pretty.
Plus, do you know what the best part about them is?
When somebody compliments me on one of these items I get to say
"He got it at Jared!"

Next, let's all drool some over some Frye boots.
Let's pay particular attention to THESE BABIES.
They are over $100 off right now which actually makes them in my price range for a splurge item!!!!!  And they are from Zappos so that means free shipping!
I LOVE the details on these.

I am a BIG FAN of distressed brown leather.
For some reason, this one particular color is on sale.  I don't know why, but I'm not going to ask questions.
I'm assuming these babies are going to fly off the shelf at this price.
People scream and shout over Frye boots.  And I never really got it.
However, I started paying attention to some bloggers that wear them all the time,
and my interest kicked up a bit.
Then I saw the boots above.
Now I want a pair.
The above pair to be exact.
Here are some other Frye options in case the ones above don't do it for ya.
Hubba Hubba.

Tory Burch.
Enough said.
I don't own anything Tory Burch, but I feel like I should take a stand and change that.
I started looking around at some of her stuff, and I happen to love just about everything I see.
Of course I knew about her flats...
but the boots are gorgeous...the purses are amazing...and the jewelry is to die for.
They are totally statement pieces!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this silver bracelet.
I feel like I would wear it constantly.
There is also a gold one that I am eyeing, and it's 30% off right now which makes it under $100!
I've recently started wearing more and more gold.  Have you guys?

And here are some other things I would be proud to own:
(the boot below is almost $150 off right now!) lets talk about Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs.

Okay, enough about my crush on Carly.

If you're a silver girl, this watch is for you.
Mainly silver, with a hint of gold and a tiny bit of bling.

I didn't even know that I was in to these designers, until I started reading Carly at C Style.
Here's the deal.  She's got some really nice stuff .
And I started thinking how it could be fun to start adding some really great pieces to my wardrobe
every so often.
Classic pieces that will last forever.
She is super chic and WAY cooler than I am...
So I'm figuring I should probably try to be a copy cat.

Carly lives in Houston, but we have been e-mailing and texting...and we've even talked on the phone a couple of times.
I LOVE her. I hope she isn't scared.  But I do.

Don't be scared Carly.  I love you in a totally normal and not freaky at all kind of way. :)

And this bag is awesome (and $75 off right now!)

Or maybe you like this gold watch.
I am totally obsessed with the band on this one.

And last but not least, some really nice Fossil pieces.
I know, these aren't really considered "designer"...but they are still super nice and cost more than the "normal" stuff I buy on a regular basis.
I tell ya, Fossil has REALLY stepped it up a notch over the last several years.
My eyes were opened to Fossil when my sister worked for them several years ago.
Until then, I thought Fossil was just leather and quilted patchwork bags. more friends.
I have 3 of their purses.  In fact, they are the only purses I have carried for the past 3 years.
(I might have stolen 1 or 2 of them from aforementioned sister.
But nothing has been proven in a court of law.)
I have a black one, a rust colored one, and a Kelly green one.
I get compliments on all of them constantly.
Here are lots of choices from the current collection.

So...that's it!

Wouldn't it be AWESOME to give or get one of these items?!?
Any of these would be WAY better than a tube of ointment.

Oh friend Shay was first to comment on today's post.
In case you don't read the comments, this is what she said:
"I will be directing Andrew to this post today for my Christmas presents.
You're practically Santa Claus."

Yes.....I'm Santa Claus.

On the FOURTH day of Christmas, my true love sent to me,
leopard print a plenty,
(Try not to read it and sing it.  I dare you.)

Leopard Flats from Steve Madden
Can I LOVE a shoe?  Cause I do.
I have a pair of leopard flats that I wear all the time.  I got them from Target last year, but they are on their last leg.  They were one season shoes for sure, but they were only $12, so that's okay!  I didn't want to spend a lot on my first pair of leopard shoes, because I wasn't really sure how much I was going to wear them.  Well, now I know that I wear them CONSTANTLY.
So, now I don't mind spending a little more on them.
I think these are going to be my new go to shoes.
I like their pointy toe which makes them super modern!
I found a couple of different sources, with different sizes available at each link.
here (only 5 left!) and here

Or look at this leopard print sperry.
Ooh. La. La.
I like the little bit of glam on this one.

Leopard heels from Steve Madden here
I don't have any use for these, but I bet the hubby wouldn't mind me having them.
You know, just for a quiet night at home.
I think that deserves another "me-ow". ;)
They are $30 off right now!!!

What an affordable and chic way to put a little leopard AND some Tory Burch under your tree!!
 I love these.
That is all.

Leopard Scarf from LOFT
Loft and Leopard are a match made in heaven.

I know these have been on the blog several times now.  But I don't care.  So there.

 Leopard Print Belt

animal print wallet
Leopard slippers found HERE
I saw these slippers in person on one of my cousins over Thanksgiving, and they were SO cute.
She raved about how comfortable they are too.  And super affordable from Tar-jay!

So, now you it's your turn.  Link up your AWESOME deal.
I can't wait to see what goodies everybody was able to score!!!

LOFT Flash Sale RIGHT NOW!!!

Just saw this on facebook:
Customer Appreciation: As a way to thank YOU we are offering a exclusive, tonight only (offer ends tomorrow at 10 AM EST).
Shop now to receive $50 off every $100 spent on all full price styles.
I'm guessing this is in response to the fact that so many people were trying to shop on Cyber Monday that their website had some technical issues.
So...if you were one of those people....try again right now!
***Disclaimer:  I just had a facebook friend tell me that she was STILL having problems with the site.  Having problems with the LOFT website during a sale is unfortunately NOT uncommon.  They REALLY need to get their issues worked out or they are going to continue to lose loyal shoppers.
I didn't have any trouble with my order on Monday, but others did.
So, good luck with the shopping!  If the website is working appropriately, you will get some great deals!
The sale ends 11/29/2012 at 10 a.m. EST.
  Just click HERE or below.
Just look at all of the goodness:

The story at the end is worth the read. Promise.

I have this one sweater from the LOFT that I really loved when I bought it.
However, when I got it home and started trying to wear it, there were 2 things I didn't like about it.
1)  It was shorter than I liked.
2)  It had a very wide neckline.

So, each and every time I put it on, I would take it off before walking out the door.
Not any more!
I saw the inspiration pic and I thought "Aha! That's it!
Put a long oxford shirt under the sweater.
Inspiration picture pinned, but originally found here.

Sweater| LOFT, similar here
Oxford Shirt|  GAP, found here
Necklace| Lucky Brand, wear it CONSTANTLY, similar here
Skinny Jeans| Swanky Boutique, similar here
Brown boots with brass hardware|  Ross, similar here
In fact, I think I like this boot even better than mine, and I really love mine.
(Sadly, only 3 sizes still in stock)

Thank you Pinterest for FINALLY getting me to wear this sweater.
I made it work.
Tim Gunn would be proud.

And listen...this is totally random and has nothing to do with this post.
But a friend showed me these boots yesterday.
She is getting them for her daughter for Christmas.
If you are looking something super fun to get for your daughter that she will go crazy for,
this might be it!
I present to you:
Ugg boots with bows
They also come in toddler sizes!
Make sure you head over and read the reviews.  Everybody that has these boots LOVES these boots!
Maybe I should adopt a 3-5 year old little girl so I can put her in a pink pair of these with leggings.
Yes, I think I should.
Or wait..maybe I should just order them for me.
Yes.  I guess that would be more logical.
they come in black, blue, pink, and purple
And the link is through Zappos, which means FREE SHIPPING!

And now....for no other reason than your PURE ENJOYMENT....a story for you.
Think of it as an early Christmas present.
This is really, really, really good.
Epic, really.
Let me set it up for you.
When Carter was 3 years old, we went to Sam's
(for those of you not familiar, it's a wholesale store where you buy in bulk).
Now, at our Sam's, a little old man stands at the door that you exit from.
His only purpose is to check the receipt against the items in your cart to make sure that everything is accounted for.
There are several different little old men who do this.
But this particular job is always filled by a man, and he is definitely grandpa age.
Well, if a child is in your cart, the little old man draws a picture on the back of the receipt for the kid.
A simple smiley face is typically what gets drawn, and I don't know why, but Carter always loves it.
On this particular day, the little old man handed the receipt handed the receipt back to me without a picture on it.
Carter looked at him like he was crazy and he handed the receipt back to him for his picture.
The little old man chuckled, drew a pic, and then handed the receipt back to Carter.
Carter squealed with delight and glee.
This was the picture:
A nice smiley face, right?
Well, Carter continued to laugh, squeal, and be SUPER excited about his picture.
And then, he said this,
in a VERY loud voice I might add.....
Wait for it.....
"Look Mommy, he draw boobies!"
 Do you see it?
Cover up the smiley face and just look at what are supposed to be the eyes and the eyeballs.
Well, that's not what Carter saw.
Carter saw some seriously saggy (anatomically correct) boobies.
The kid must have been looking at National Geographic magazines when I wasn't looking,
because those certainly don't look like MY boobies.
I gave a little 1/2 smile to the grandpa,
a little nervous laugh about 23 octaves higher than my normal voice squeaked out,
and I died a little inside.
I didn't make eye contact with a soul,
and I slinked away to the car with my boob loving 3 year old.
I laughed until I cried, called all of my friends and family, and put it in the baby book immediately.
And I totally stand by the fact that those are not my boobies.

Come back tomorrow for my first ever linky party!

Pinterest Told GET YOUR PRETTY ON To!

You guys are in for a treat today!
My newest blog friend, Alison over at Get Your Pretty On
is going to be showing us what Pinterest told her to do!
You're gonna love her (that is if you don't hate her for her gorgeous smile, shiny hair, pretty landscaping, plantation shutters, and what looks like hand-scraped dark wood floors).

Hola, Pinterest Told Me To readers!
I'm Alison from Get Your Pretty On and I'm thrilled to be guest posting at Sheaffer's blog.
Sheaffer and I met through bloggy land and hit it off immediately. We both have golden retrievers, met our hubbies 19 years ago and when we realized we lived near one another, we knew we just had to meet up in real life!
We had our first official "blate" (date with a blog friend) recently and it went swimmingly.
Trust me when I say that she is just as cute and sweet in person as she is in the blogosphere.

When Sheaffer asked me to re-create some outfits from Pinterest,
I saw an opportunity for sweet redemption.

You see, Pinterest to me is a big ol' guilt trip.
A constant reminder of all of the cool stuff I've pinned yet never done.
Recipes I swore I'd make, outfits I wanted to re-create, craft ideas that I went as far as buying the supplies for but never attempted.
Pinterest tells me that I'm an underachiever, a disappointment, a let down.
 It hurts my self-esteem.
Well, my dears, that's all about to change.
I will shout it from the roof tops,
"I am NOT a failure, Pinterest. I pinned it AND did it!"

Drum roll, please....
Ladies, I now present to you my very first Pinterest re-creations!
In one of my recent pinning frenzies, I found two looks featuring chambray shirts and fell in love with both. The best part is I was able to re-create them using stuff I already own. My chambray shirt from H&M has been one of my favorite purchases this season. It's versatility never ceases to amaze me. Have you ever seen an outfit and said "YES, that is SO me!" Well this one is it. The riding boots, the pearls and cardigan - it's a classic that will never go out of style.

Did I happen to mention that I'm a Target addict? Well, if not, then this outfit pretty much proves it. The yellow sweater, necklace, bracelets, jeans and belt are all Tar-zhay and were $20 and under! The boots are Loft (last year).
This second look is completely effortless and oh so comfy!
I'd seriously live in tank tops and leggings if I could.
Start with that as the base, throw on a chambray shirt, scarf and your favorite boots...
and voila!
Instant outfit.
The leggings are from Marshall's, the tank is Forever 21, the boots are from Target (last year), the scarf was bought in Mexico and the gold watch is from New York & Company.
Every piece of this outfit was $20 or under, except the chambray shirt which was $24.99.
So, take that Pinterest! I did it!
Hope you all liked my outfit re-creations and that you'll stop by and visit me at Get Your Pretty On where I provide outfit inspiration and show you how to build your wardrobe on just $20 a week.

Thanks so much, Sheaffer, it's been a blast!
My sense of accomplishment is soaring.
Maybe I'll even take on one of those recipes I pinned?
Nah, better not over do it!

Thanks Alison!
I've got so much to say that I don't even know where to begin.
About the first look...
you pulled off the denim on denim PERFECTLY!
And that sister, is hard to do without coming off too 80's...
or even too 90's.
I know it can be so great if done right, but I haven't been brave enough to try it yet, until now!
You've shown me that it's okay!!!
You totally just schooled me on Denim on Denim.
Somebody should have told Justin that Denim on Denim is okay....
but denim on denim on denim on denim is just crossing the line.

About the 2nd look,
It is pinned from a super cute blog called Katie Did What.
I tried that look already (in fact, I tried to recreate that exact picture),
and it didn't work for me.
However, after seeing your picture, now I know why!
My denim shirt doesn't taper up on the sides like yours and the inspiration pics does.
I think that is the key to making that outfit work!
However, even though my shirt doesn't taper up, I feel it necessary to again profess my love for it.
I there a more versatile piece of clothing out there?
Click HERE if you want to see all of my denim shirt looks.
Alison, you did an AWESOME job,
and I'm proud to be your bloggy friend.
You totally showed Pinterest who is boss.
(And I have a sneaking suspicion that we are going to be more than bloggy friends...but actually real life-long friends too!)

Please remember to check back with both of us on Thursday for our first linky party!
Get ready to share your amazing deals with blog land!
It's going to be a flipping blast!

If you are new to the blog, and want to catch up on my 12 Days of Christmas Series, go HERE.

On the THIRD day of Christmas, my true love sent to me,

I Got Yo' Man Covered. You're Welcome.

First, there is something I need to share with you.
I'm sad.
Nothing serious mind  you, but I kinda wanted to tear up bawl my head off when I was supposed to get THESE in the mail...
20% off site wide and free shipping with code CYBER

and instead I got these.
Yep, somehow there was a mix-up.
I was supposed to get the prettiest pair of boots I've ever seen.
Instead, I got one of the ugliest pairs of sandals in the history of the world.
Can't you just see these being worn with pleated polyester pants and hose?
They are Naturalizers for crying out loud.
Hopefully the error is being corrected as we speak.

My friend Shay already got her boots,
and she can't stop gushing about them.
Yep, her brother is The Bachelor AND she has awesome boots.

I'm so afraid there aren't going to be any tall ones left (only 3 sizes left right now).  The tall ones and the short ones are selling like crazy.
(I've updated this post 3 times to reflect the boots that are still in stock.)
If they are out of the tall ones by the time they get back to me, I guess I will get these ankle boots, there seems to be plenty of sizes (at least for now)
and I love them too.
I'm actually loving a lot of the Not Rated boots, and I'd never even heard of this brand until last week.

30% off site wide and free shipping with code CYBER30

Now...on to regularly scheduled programming.

On the THIRD day of Christmas, my true love sent to me,
things on sale*,
(Try not to read it and sing it.  I dare you.)

*You really need to check out the LOFT sale.
50% off EVERYTHING today only, even items previously on sale...

So, today I will be focusing on things for the man in your life.
Your hubby, your dad, your brother, your boyfriend, your favorite uncle, your son, your brother-in-law, your "special friend".
You know.....a man.
Any man will do.
If you like what you see, act fast!  Cyber Monday deals on all of these things end today...and who knows how long the stock will last.

My hubby has most of the things on this list so they are Pinterest Told Me To Hubby Approved!
FYII tried to do a Google image search for a "hubby approved seal",
and this is literally the first picture that popped up.

Not quite what I had in mind, but it'll do.

Okay....on with the 3rd Day of Christmas list....
These are my man's tennis shoes.
He LOVES them.
They are Merrell, so they are obviously super comfortable.
(If you aren't familiar with the Merrell brand, they are known for their comfort.)
Plus, they look cool!
They are billed as a hiking shoe, but my man doesn't hike.
He just walks.
And when I say he walks, I mean he walks to his truck.
Click HERE if you want them for your man!
20% off site wide and free shipping with code CYBER

These are also the hubby's.
And they are also Merrell.
Again, SUPER comfortable...and they look great with khaki pants and jeans.
Click HERE if you think your man would like these.
20% off site wide and free shipping with code CYBER
The next several things are Fossil.
Because I love and adore all things Fossil.
And so should you.
(There will be lots more Fossil goodness during the rest of the Christmas series for the ladies too.)
This is just a belt.
Just a plain brown belt with a nice brushed silver buckle.
But it's nice.
And it's well priced.
And who wouldn't like this?
My hubby likes his.
Click HERE if you're interested in the belt.
15% off with code CYBER
This is a Fossil shaving kit.
And I dig it.
Does your man travel a lot on business?
If so, this is perfect for him!
Or maybe your man is like my man, and he goes hunting a lot.
Either way, this is a really nice bag for him to take with him.  My guy loves his!
(He got it as a present from my sister a couple of years ago.)
free shipping, free returns
My hubby doesn't wear a watch, but I know that most guys do, so I thought
I would offer up some options.
Fossil makes really good looking men's watches that won't totally break the bank.
Because watches can totally do that.

Here are 3 great options at different price points.

And if my man wore a watch, I think this might be his favorite of the 3.
The catalog says:We've enhanced the look of this industrial-inspired Machine watch with a utility leather strap and rugged gunmetal shipping

The catalog says:  Crafted in high-grade titanium with a leather strap, our Machine watch strikes the perfect balance between durable and lightweight. free shipping

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this watch.
And I think a guy who is a "watch guy" would love this one too.
The catalog says:  With a military-inspired design, our Nate watch, constructed in high-grade titanium, strikes the perfect balance between durable and lightweight. free shipping

Or to see at least 100 other cute GAP shirts for men.

And as you know, Gap has lots and lots of jeans,

30% off with code CYBER, free shipping on all orders over $50, and free returns on all orders
My hubby has put together quite The North Face jacket collection over the last 5 years or so.
Just ask his friends.
They make fun of him because he wears these jackets all the time.
Contrary to what the name implies, you don't need to be at the top of a snow capped mountain to wear these.
According to him, they are the perfect jackets.
Super durable.
Click HERE to see this one.
free shipping right now and 25% off for today only with code CYBER

Hands down,
The catalog says:   Not sure if the forecast calls for a thunderstorm or a snowstorm? This versatile three-in-one jacket provides optimal cold and wet weather protection so you'll never need to debate which jacket is best for the conditions. With a waterproof, breathable, seam sealed exterior featuring an adjustable, removable hood, stay dry during wet weather with just the shell. For cold, wintertime weather, pair it with the fleece interior jacket for optimal warmth.
If a guy can adore a jacket, he adores this jacket.
Click HERE to see this one.
free shipping right now and 25% off for today only (this jacket was also already on sale!) with code CYBER

Two years ago my man broke down and bought himself a nice pair of sunglasses.
He went with Oakley, and he has been totally pleased with his splurge purchase.
He insists they need to be polarized (I don't even know what that means).
I can't find his, but these are similar. And they are polarized
free shipping and online code for 15% off  today only
If you're man likes grilling, check out this set!
It is through Open Sky, which I'm not super familiar with, but it looks like a really cool site!
This set is  14% off today and has free shipping for Cyber Monday.
Last but certainly not least....most men love tools.
(My dad doesn't, but most men do.  Don't worry dad, I promise not to get you a drill for Christmas.)
But most men go nutty over power tools.
My man is no different.
He swears he couldn't live without it.
I'm thinking you could get lots of brownie points if this was under the tree!
Click HERE if you want it for your guy!
free shipping

And I thought I would leave you with 1 image from this weekend.
I went to the country with my family for Thanksgiving, and right when I got out of bed on Friday morning, I put on a pair of flip flops to walk around in the ranch house
so my socks wouldn't get dirty.
The sister-in-law looked at me like "really?" and asked "Did Pinterest tell you to do that?"
Everybody's a comedian.  ;)

On second thought...maybe those Naturalizer sandals would be good for me after all.:)

Check back tomorrow for a Pinterest inspired outfit post from a guest blogger!
